2017 Keynote Speaker

Eboni Zamani-Gallaher, professor of education

Brought to you by ISAA and IABHE, this year’s annual meeting speaker will be Eboni Zamani-Gallaher. The title of her keynote is: Time to Tilt: Collegiate Contradictions, Professorial Paradoxes, and Asserting Black Minds Matter.

Eboni M. Zamani-Gallaher is a Professor of Higher Education/Community College Leadership in the Department of Education Policy, Organization and Leadership at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is Director of the Office for Community College Research and Leadership (OCCRL) at UIUC. Dr. Zamani-Gallaher is Past-President of the Council for the Study of Community Colleges (CSCC) and is Director for Scholarship and Publications for the American Association of Personnel Administrators (ACPA). She is a previous recipient of the Association for the Study of Higher Education (ASHE) Council on Ethnic Participation Mildred B. Garcia Senior Exemplary Scholar Award, is a 2017 ACPA Diamond Honoree, and CSCC Senior Scholar Award recipient. Dr. Zamani-Gallaher has authored/edited seven books and her research has been published in various journals and scholarly texts, including Equity and Excellence in Education, Higher Education Policy, and New Directions for Student Affairs. Her most recent titles include Working with Student in Community Colleges: Contemporary Strategies for Bridging Theory, Research, and Practice (ACPA/Stylus Publishing), ASHE Reader Series on Community Colleges, Fourth Edition (Pearson Publications), and The Obama Administration and Educational Reform (Emerald Group Publishing)
